South Beach to Key Biscayne.

There is a Miami day that only works with the roof down. It starts on South Beach while the hotels are still serving a late breakfast, runs the length of Collins because the straight shot through the causeways would skip the point, and ends on Key Biscayne when the water is on both sides of the car. Start on Collins, not on the highway.

Collect the car at the hotel door. If you are staying in Brickell, take the longer way over to the Beach rather than punching I-95 and calling it a coastal drive. Collins Avenue is the temperature check: open, slow, the city performing itself. A 296 GTS, Huracán EVO Spyder, 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, or Continental GTC is the right instrument. Closed coupes can do this route. They will not feel like the reason you came.

Do not leave at five on a Saturday in season unless you enjoy standing still. Late morning, or the hour before last light, is when this drive pays. The beach after dark is the night version; this page is daylight and the crossing.

Rickenbacker is the spine.

Once you leave the Beach, Rickenbacker Causeway is the move. The bay opens, the skyline sits behind you on the outbound, and Key Biscayne asks you to slow before you are ready. Crandon, the beach, a pause, a return timed so the inbound crossing has the city in front of the hood. That inbound view is why the route exists. The long way around is the Brickell-first variation of the same instinct.

• If the cabin should stay quiet: Ghost or DB12 — still a coastal car, a different temperature.
• If there are five of you: Urus SE or G 63. The roof stays up. The island still works.
• Miles: 150 / day standard. This loop fits. Islamorada does not — that is Coastal Escape.

The inbound crossing, with the skyline on the hood, is the reason to go out at all.

South Beach / Miami Beach is a published zone from $150. Key Biscayne is from $175. If the night starts on the island — a residence, a resort — we deliver there and the Beach becomes the outbound. If you land at MIA and think you will “just drive over,” read MIA versus FLL first; the airport is a different first hour.

The Keys beyond Key Biscayne are a permission conversation, not a default. Most vehicles can travel farther with advance approval. Do not point a lookbook supercar at Overseas Highway on a whim and assume the inclusion covers it. Tell concierge the day before.

What to tell the desk.

Parking on the island is a hotel or residence problem, not a lot we invent. If you are not staying on Key Biscayne, treat Crandon as a pause and come back across the water. Do not leave a lookbook car on a public shoulder and walk away. The return crossing is the photograph; the parked car is not.
